OOTD inspired by my Mom's closet

I felt extra creative today!
Since no one was home this morning, I took the chance to peek into my mom's big ass wardrobe. She's got plenty of clothes that can't all be fitted in her room's closet so we have a separate clothing hanger in the guest room just for her clothes XD
My mom is a very inspirational woman of her generation. I believe that she is 50 years old now and she definitely got some cool style! To be honest, her style and shopping experience is definitely better than me, meaning, whatever she picks are always the best choices! My mom goes crazy on shopping spree whenever she finds time or on sale period!

She loves looking young, cute, cool but still beautiful!

Alright, to show you guys that these items I have selected for my OOTD are NOT mine at all....I can't wear or I never choose any other size except XS and S.
Somehow her clothes fit me nicely :)

Note that the white inner dress and the brown belt are actually mine and the pink platform shoes is shared between mom and I.

Here are some pictures of my OOTD :)

I also curled my hair, very inspired by Elle, a makeup and beauty guru on Youtube!

Short story: I never knew how to properly use my curling iron until I watched her Get Ready With Me video yesterday. It totally tempted me so bad to curl my hair again! The result? It wasn't too bad! I'm happy with my curls but I thought to tie my hair up to look neat :)

As for my eye makeup, these are the products I used:

  • Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Lotion
  • Shu Uemura's Pink Shimmery Eyeshadow
  • M.A.C's Brown (Cork) Eyeshadow
  • Dolly Wink's Waterproof Volume Mascara in Black
  • M.A.C's White Shimmery Eyeshadow
  • For my eyebrows: M.A.C's Brown (Cork) Eyeshadow

Full List of Brands I wore today:

  • Floral dress from Jaspal
  • Denim shirt from CPS (CHAPS)
  • White inner dress at some cheap market
  • Bag from Louis Vuitton
  • Shoes from Guess
  • Belt from Japan
  • Bracelets from Accessorizes

Dolly Wink Packaging Design Update!

A little Dolly Wink update for those Dolly Wink fans OR Tsubasa Masuwaka fans!

Oh now, I miss seeing her on magazines! I should better buy the newest Popteen magazine soon! :)

If you have checked out my previous posts, Dolly Wink products are now available in Thailand!
You are able to find LOADS of them at Tsuhara shop in Gateway Ekkamai! I loveeeeee that store!! It's HEAVEN to me!! XD

If it's inconvenient for you, I also found some Dolly Wink products at Mary Jane shop (I hope I remembered correctly) in Siam Square. It's near Hard Rock Hotel.

Anyway now I don't have to worry about looking around online and off-line anymore! I just realized how cheap they are compared to over-the-counter brands

Let me compare them right now if you think otherwise, let's do the math here:

M.A.C or Shu Uemura eyelashes cost about 600-700baht for ONE PAIR!

Dolly Wink or any other Japanese eyelashes brand cost about 400+baht for TWO PAIRS!!

If you don't believe me then go ask over-the-counter staffs and prove me wrong by posting a photo on my Facebook page or Twitter (@rosiedolly), thank you :)

Another PROS about Japanese eyelashes is that the band that holds eyelashes is much stronger and light-weight when applying on your lashes. This means that band won't bother your eyes at all as it is very flexible. Also, the band is thin and clear!

A few days ago, I checked out Dolly Wink official website and I noticed that Tsubasa Masuwaka (the producer of Dolly Wink) has newly designed her packaging again!

Allow me to show you the original (first) packaging

Notice from the picture below that as she has expanded her eyelashes line, she has already design a new packaging and up until today, these packaging remain the same. But......!

........Below are the new design:
She switched the original packaging to the new one that was already produced last year.

These are the upper lashes, and there are 3 new upper lashes style

Below is a picture of the newest packaging and one of the newest eyelashes:

As for lower lashes, she hasn't created new ones but the packaging have also switched to the new design.

Not only her eyelashes line's packaging have been changed but she continued to make all of her Dolly Wink products' packaging to have a consistent packaging design look.
If you scroll back up to my own photo taken from last year, her old liquid eyeliner's and pencil eyeliner's packaging used to be pink-black tone and polka dots all over it. But now, she has changed the entire product's design to a more sweet, cute and clean look.

On my WISH LIST

  • Dolly Wink Upper Lashes #2, #10 and #11
  • Dolly Wink Lower Lashes #8 and #14
If you would ask me, which eyelashes I've been enjoying would be combination of upper lashes #9 and lower lashes #5.

Tsubasa Masuwaka has also another successful cosmetics line called Candy Doll. Briefly, Candy Doll focuses more on the face area, i.e liquid foundation, powder foundation, blushes and lip glosses.

Below is a quick snap shot of her Candy Doll products from her official website:

From what I can observe, Tsubasa Masuwaka is a very inspirational and admiral Japanese young model and entrepreneur in the Fashion and Beauty industry. She has proven her abilities and potential in what she loves and she is able to give what all girls and ladies of all age group want to look pretty everyday. She works hard on looking for the right eyelashes style and other eye makeup products to make all girls and ladies look beautiful every day at any occasions. At the same time, her packaging design look continues to improve and attract the consumers. I really look forward to see better and attractive design look from Dolly Wink in the future!

Over the past few years, Dolly Wink has shown a dramatic growth and popularity among the targeted audience in Japan. And just shortly, Dolly Wink has attracted more audience from around the world, especially in Asian countries.

Dolly Wink and Candy Doll are just two Beauty brand that she has personally produced and both are very successful in Japan. Tsubasa Masuwaka has also her own Fashion brands from clothing to stockings.

I believe that this is going to be the end of this post! Please go check out her official websites for more information and don't forget to go LIKE her Facebook pages too!

Look of The Day - Minty Green

Today I was inspired by the color - minty green. I totally forgot that I own this simple minty green top and i just had to wear today to uni ^^

I'm not really sure where i bought this top from but pretty sure I didn't buy it in Thailand.

The inspiration came from the newest Popteen March issue. Kumicky chan worn an oversize minty green top, light brown shorts and black heels.
(Please see the Inspiration picture below, Kumicky chan inspiration is bottom right picture)

Minty Green top - don't remember
Blazer - Sister's :p
Black shorts - Lyn Around
Pink polka dot socks - BBW (HK)
Black heels - Central Chidlom Department Store
Bow bag - from Sister's
Necklaces - Forever XXI

Since i just came back from uni, i needed to hydrate myself by having some fresh orange juice and green tea! Plus, i couldn't resist to get my favorite delicious egg tart from KFC! Yummy~~!

P.S: I'm testing Blogger app on my iphone right now and hoping that the final entry will come out good. If this turns out good, i shall use this app more regularly! :D

Until next time, take care!
Happy Monday!

Shop Till I Almost Dropped!

Last Saturday, I shopped a lot!! Especially yesterday! Since I got some red envelopes, I just wanted to spend some more to get ready for Spring!

The first top right picture is from MNG! MNG has its new collection since last week! It was just too tempting to not spend a few on it ^^
So I got this new stripes top. I love the details like the gold buttons and yellow stripes.
I also got this creamy oversize shirt. It’s a V-neck one. To be honest, I don’t own a lot of white or creamy tops so I had to collect some while I have money XD What’s special about this top is that it’s almost like a ‘boyfriend’ shirt. The sleeves, in particular, make it more masculine.

TODAY, I spent a few more of my CNY money at Topshop XD I love this red fitted dress. I can definitely go layer with this dress. I don’t like fitted dress all the way. Personally, it’s uncomfortable. Plus, if I want to go girly and ‘kawaii’, this loose bottom part is great! :D
I got two tops of different patterns. Like I said, I don’t have a lot of white tops XD So here I am! A must-have in my wardrobe! White tops can just go with anything!
The other black floral top is lovely! Sadly, I have to admit that at the sleeves part, it’s a bit big than I thought. So you can see my bra…but I thought of a solution! Fashion Tape!! XD
Lastly but not least, I had to buy at least a pair of SOCKS! This one is adorable!!! It has bows of different pastels colors!! And the price is ‘quite’ lovely too XD 250 baht! Topshop has a variety of cute socks, so check it out! :D

My shopping day could not end without stopping by Forever 21! I like Forever 21 necklaces only! The rest of the store doesn’t appeal to me at all. It’s too cheap for me. It failed my expectations from my last purchased 2 years ago. Sorry :/

Their rings also disappointed me. I cannot stand those objects that smell funny like the ones I bought before smelled like metals (duh!) after I sweat (ewww!) Sorry but this is something that I cannot stand. >.< But their necklaces are cute XD I mean look at the details from these necklaces!

Minnie Mouse Maybe?

My first thoughts of this look were actually to experiment more with this red polka dots shirt. The more kawaii I wanted to be, the more I turned into a Disney character, according to my friend T^T oh well I guess that’s kawaii haha XD

Red Polka Dots/ White Collar: CPS
Black shorts: Lyn Around

**Tip#1: pair with black stocking (high over knees) for more kawaii look.
**Tip#2: It’s great to have a sweet touch with black lace and tie it like a bow.

Chillin’ and Stripes

I like to have a day to just wear comfortable clothes. Stockings and a long shirt are the best combination to relax, comfy but still stay stylish.

Floral Stripes Shirt: Stradivarius
Black stockings: Central Department store
Oversize jacket: from my sister XD
Ankle boots in brown: Zara

**Tip#1: Leggings are our best friends! They go with anything long (usually reach to cover enough your bottom)
**Tip#2: Go with flats if you want to be more comfy on a Sunday
**Tip#3: Satchel bags instead of a handbag, this was just my personal preference

Thai working women inspiration

I think this title suit best what I want to portray. During my internship at Marie Claire (Thailand), all Thai working women in the Fashion department was wearing something to what I’m wearing here. They like to wear something long and loose at the bottom and wear something comfy rather than fit on your body at the top.

White t-shirt: from my sister :p
Long polka dots skirt in dark green with belt: Shibuya 109

**Tip#1: If you want to wear this look for work, go with high heels and close at the front. But if you’re planning to see some friends or go shopping, I would prefer flats or small heels for comfy.
**Tip#2: Skinny belts are great to accentuate and divide your waist. Don’t forget that!

Simply Shopping

I can’t think of what I can call this look. But I went shopping on that day and I was happy XD

Pink top: from my sister
Black shorts: Lyn Around
Grey stockings: Accessorize
Black ankle boots: Central Department store

**Tip#1: I love to tuck in my top inside my skirt/pants/shorts. This helps to elongate my body. Another advantage of that is because I, myself, have long legs (and skinny legs) and I’m only 160cm, so it’s great to show off my legs to make others think I’m tall XD
**Tip2: High waist shorts are also great to make you look tall. But make sure that the shorts still cover your bottom cheeks!!!
**Tip#3: If you feel that you’re showing too much skin at the bottom, go with stockings of creamy color. Sometimes wearing any dark color socks can be too exaggerating. If you want to be more discrete, go with soft/ lighter colors.

Red Dragon

I wanted to play with the red color for this year’s Chinese New Year.

Pink shirt: CPS
Red Skinny pants: Bershka
Red belt: from Japan
Rose Golden Necklace: from my friends for my birthday

**Tip#1: Try to layer different color of red but don’t over layer!
**Tip#2: As for shoes, I went with simple brown oxfords.
**Tip#3: As for makeup, I went neutral eyeshadows but had red/orange lips.

Pink means Passion

You might have noticed that I’ve worn this pink shirt quite often for the past week. I love simple shirts. They go with anything. A small detail like a collar can make the entire look formal.

Pink shirt: CPS
Black shorts: Lyn Around
Clutch: Zara

**Tip#1: Accessorize the look. Example, wear long necklace to elongate your chest.
**Tip#2: In terms of layering, you can wear a tank top inside and wear another cropped blazer outside. It’s just too hot in Thailand to layer more than 2 >.<

From Day to Night

I prefer to keep down my ‘kawaii’ style outside of university/campus. There are several reasons to not show or wear at Thai universities so I like to wear cardigans to cover up some parts. Then when I’m out elsewhere, I would go back with my ‘kawaii’ style.

DAY LOOK
Black cardigan: Uniqlo
Blue collar shirt: CPS
Pink pleated skirt: Shibuya 109
Brown Oxfords shoes: Central Department store

NIGHT LOOK
Blue collar shirt: CPS
Pink pleated skirt: Shibuya 109
Black stockings: unknown XD I don’t remember :p
Black heels: Central Department store

**Tip#1: I’m not sure if you can see on the pictures but I tied a nice bow on my shirt for a sweet touch
**Tip#2: If you don’t want to go with black stockings, you can wear short socks that have cute patterns on it. Dark color socks can do. For cute patterned socks, stop by any Topshop stores.

Otona Kawaii (translation: Cute Adult)

LAST OOTD for this week XD Oh my gosh I didn’t realize I took a lot of OOTD! XD This is my favorite look of the week! Cute! Feminine! Flirty! Sexy too! XD

Black cardigan: CPS
Rabbit patterned skirt: from Japan
Black stockings: from Japan
High heels: Aldo

**Tip#1: If you want to go completely feminine, go with pencil skirt. Beige more preferably.
**Tip#2: Small details like this pearly necklace can turn the look very feminine.

PHOTO OF THE DAY!

I have to share this adorable assembled of chocolate in those dim sum boxes!!! Yes, adorable and very creative!! My parents got these from their Singaporean friend! Not only cute but delicious! Yummy~!

Until then, everyone, enjoy CNY celebration!

Love,
Rosie

Happy New Year 2012!

Happy New Year 2012!!

How was your new years eve celebration?

I celebrated with my loving high school friends at this fabulous hotel, owned by one of my high friend :) We stayed at one of the penthouse of 2 floors and an awesome balcony with jacuzzi for us to watch the fireworks around Bangkok. It was just beautiful and great feelings to celebrate such a big day of the year with your friends. But we were all disappointed with the fireworks. It was short and ended unexpectedly :/
Since I came back from Japan, my style quite changed since then or perhaps, just improved :) I was well inspired by the young people there. I realize that looking through Japanese magazines is way beyond reality. You have to see real fashion through your own eyes. But I know I can still improve my style if I keep visiting Japan in the near future :)
Let me briefly tell you about Japan, if you haven't been there yet: clean, cute!, friendly and very fashionable people (especially in Tokyo, very inspirational). In terms of food, I have to say Bangkok's Japanese food are better XD I guess we try to adjust the food to be more tasteful. Please don't feel offended >.< Maybe that's because my friend and I just entered to random restaurants, we just wanted to have food XD

Alright, let's get down to some OOTDs :D

1) New Years Eve Outfit: Sweet Pink New Year Eve Celebration

Pink Pleated Skirt with beige bow belt: a shop from Shibuya 109, Japan
Glittery Knitted Top: Zara
Fur Collar: Shibuya 109, Japan
Floral socks in beige: BBW http://beckybwardrobe.weebly.com/index.html
Ankle Boots: Zara

2) Day One Twenty Twelve

Top: Shibuya 109
Rabbit pattern skirt: a shop in Namba Walk underground shopping in Osaka
Ankle boots: Zara

3) Day Two Twenty Twelve

Top: CPS (local Thai brand)
Rabbit pattern skirt: Namba Walk, Osaka
Knee High Socks in brown: a shop in Yokohama station
Ankle Boots: Zara

4) Some more OOTDs before and after new year :)

LEFT
T-shirt in grey: bought at my favorite band live concert :)
Pleated Denim Skirt: CPS (local brand in Thailand)
Ankle Boots: Zara

MIDDLE
White shirt: H&M
Long polka dots skirt in turquoise with brown belt: Shibuya 109
White flats: local Thai brand

RIGHT
Bow Dress in brown: Shibuya 109
White flats: local Thai brand

That's it! As you can see, I have been wearing a lot of clothes from Japan. I love Shibuya 109! It's cheap and CUTE! CHO KAWAII DA YO! I would never get bored of that building but I can be very picky with my style. I love dolly and kawaii! But it must also be comfortable :) I wish i could go back to Japan at least twice a year during mid season XD

A little observation: I walked around Siam Square yesterday with a friend. I looked at the clothes here in Thailand and compared them with the ones in Shibuya 109 and I'm very sad and disappointed of quality of clothes in Bangkok :/ It's too cheap but I understand that the quality and the price really match....I wish I could bring some Jap brands to Bangkok like what just happened in Singapore! I'm so jealous! >o<"

Alright, before I end this longggg post, I want to share my...

New year resolutions 2012!

To be a better person !

Get more fit! Work out at least 2-3 times a week! Gambarimasu!

Take care of my skin more and more!

Find an internship or a job before summer!

Blog, blog, blog!!

Go to Japan!

I will try my best this year! :D

Tell me, what's your new year resolutions?

Love,
Rosie

December Eye Makeup of the month :))

Good evening everyone
This is a short blog entry. As we have just entered the last month of year 2011, I shall start it off with the eye makeup of the month :)

Products used:

  1. Double Eyelid Tape from Daiso (only 60 baht)
  2. Eye shadows from M.A.C
  3. Mascara from DollyWink
  4. Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black from DollyWink
  5. Lower Fake Lashes from DollyWink and Melliesh
  6. Eyebrows definer from M.A.C

Last month, I ran out of that double eyelid tapes from Loft. Click here > http://rosiedolly.blogspot.com/2011/08/double-eyelid-maker-review.html
I personally loved that brand but I guess it will never come in Thailand again. I asked the Loft staffs many times and they kept telling me it ran out > :( So I had no choice but look somewhere else. There I go, I stopped by Daiso, one of my favorite place to check out random gadgets.

I bought a eyeliner type (left) and clear but slim type (right). Each cost 60 baht.

I tried on the eyeliner type but I don't really like it. The black mark is troubling. It looks very funny if you don't line your eyes with eyeliner.

I prefer the slim type on the right. Although the tape is a little thicker in the inner compared to my old one, the tape of this new one sticks very well on your eyelid. I usually don't worry too much during the day.
But what I really don't like about this product is that there are only 20 pairs.

Would I recommend? YES! It's worth trying if you're a newbie! :D Strongly recommend the slim and clear type one. 60 baht isn't too bad ^^

That's it for today. I will upload more OOTD soon :)

Take care until now,

Rosie

M.A.C's vs Melliesh's lip glosses REVIEW

I'm going to review some lip glosses  I've been using these days. I paired them in terms of use to give dimension into my lips without the use of any lipsticks. This is inspired by most Japanese models for dolly looks. These two pairs have similar shade of colors to give you an idea of how you can achieve almost the same look with different brands. Note: Melliesh lip glosses cannot be found in Thailand. But if you're interested in Melliesh you can find them online, here some links:

For in-stores, I bought mine from Sasa stores (HK), these can be found at any Sasa stores. Sadly, Sasa website doesn't sell them online :(

Below, the first pair is M.A.C Cremsheen Glass in Fashion Whim (Limited Edition, SOLD OUT) and Majolica Majorca Honey Plum in PK384.

What I love about these lip glosses:
  • Love the scent on both lip glosses
  • Very easy to apply
  • Closest shades for nude look
  • Dolly-like
  • Doesn't dries your lips
  • Affordable
NOTE: for those who want to get M.A.C Cremesheen Glass in Fashion Whim, there is a very close shade that you can get as regular edition, the reference code is C-THRU. Feel free to ask at any M.A.C counters for more infos ;)

Next pair is both from Melliesh. The reference code for each lip gloss is as followed: nude shade is #1 and the pink shade is #3. You can check out for a closer look from the official website: http://melliesh.com/

The difference of brushes as shown above is interesting. As we know, brands like M.A.C or any western brands I know of have this thin and user friendly brush to apply. On the other hand, Melliesh's brush is rounder and thicker. When applied, you get this soft feeling of the brush on your lip but on down side of it is that I feel it takes a little longer to apply the lip gloss compared to M.A.C's :/

What I love:

  • the nude shade is concealer-like > this is mostly what Asian girls love to have so if you're looking for one, definitely go for Japanese lip glosses! It really does transform your natural lip color to a very nudy color :)
  • the pink color is great to give more dimension to your lips
  • Affordable
  • Very nudy- and dolly-like
Here I took a close-up of each pair:

M.A.C gives you a more natural looking whereas Melliesh concentrates on more dolly-like look but what I love about it is that the nude color conceal your natural lip color very well. It gives you a different feeling when wearing this type of lip gloss. Trust me, it does! XD

So which one I love the most? MELLIESH! > after using them for a while, I keep falling in love with the lip glosses! XD The other combo will be my temporary ones since I can't get Melliesh products in Thailand>.<

END OF REVIEW!

Now down to some OOTD:

FYI: I've been having huge problems with my face lately. I took a week-off for my face to breathe fresh air. Yes, I felt very uncomfortable and odd (but not sad! XD) to go to classes with no makeup and big acne showed up in PUBLIC! T^T But don't worry, I think I found the remedy to calm down my face and get ready for cool weather :D thanks mommy <3

P.S: please do not get disgusting if you see red bumps on my face! please bare with me T^T

Thank you everyone for reading my blog! And I hope you enjoy reading them too ^^
Feel free to leave a comment or any suggestion for improvement! Happy to hear from them :)

Take care for now, please be safe from horrible floods!

Much love,
Rosie
